The Art of Fashion - Elle Campbell
If you didn't by now know, art and fashion are my two favourite things - see my previous post here. Although I consider my style to be rather classic and minimal, a part of me loves bold prints, bright colours and something truly unique. So when I first caught sight of Elle Campbell's hand painted silk garments at her graduate collection SOLACE, I instantly fell in love and began to follow her journey. Fast forward a year, Campbell has two incredibly successful exhibitions under her belt, several fashion shows including Urban Couture and STYLE AID and just a week ago showcased IKIGAI, a collection of works based off her most recent exhibition of the same name at Telstra Perth Fashion Festival as part of the New Generation Runway and Closing Night - which will be on the blog this weekend!
What instantly fascinated me about Campbell's work is that she has managed to perfectly fuse the artist and designer in her and in the process has not had to give up one particular skill, which in turn has helped set her apart and catapult her into a recognisable brand. Not only is she talented and doing something so incredibly unique, she is also one of the most humble and beautiful souls you will ever meet! I had the honour to wear some of her beautiful creations to two of her shows, and needless to say, I was stopped and asked countless times where my outfits were from and it was very hard saying goodbye to these pieces of art! Special thanks, to Kai and Sarah for the photos!

Elle has a lot of exciting projects in the pipeline so make sure you're following her on Instagram to keep up with it all! Look out for my next TPFF posts. Xx Nadine
