Telstra Perth Fashion Festival Jaime Lee
Feast your eyes as you’re transported into a magical land filled with rainbows, unicorns, sequins, fairy dust and all things Harajuku.Last night Jaime Lee showcased her first ready to wear collection ‘Lightyears’ inspired by theme parks and the famous Robot Restaurant that she visited on a recent trip to Tokyo. Lee wanted to bring neon nightlife back to the runway and so she did! The runway was guarded by two glistening unicorns – specifically commissioned for the show, while a neon rainbow framed the stage and made for a spectacular light show when the sequinned and embellished models came to a halt under it.Models wore Barbie blonde wigs and the attitude to go with it, while the DJ – also draped in neon attire, played chart-topping party songs and iconic 90s tunes like Barbie Girl. Similarly to the Empire Rose show, Jaime Lee took our senses on a journey by creating such an intensely exciting and beautiful atmosphere. I honestly felt like I was at the coolest club in the world! For her first ready to wear collection Lee decided to incorporate more separates and printed patterns into the collection, I fell in love with the mesh and lace flares, the soft floral printed fabrics, the completely embellished suit jackets and the killer bespoke shoes by Kira Goodey. For those of you that missed the show, Jaime Lee is exhibiting some of her key pieces from her ‘Lightyears’ collection at Enex100 along with an exclusive pop-up shop that will be selling pieces at a more accessible price point. I highly recommend going to see the exhibition, photos unfortunately just don’t do these incredible works of art justice!
